I remain confident of this:
I will see the goodness of the Lord
in the land of the living. Psalm 27:13

Have you ever met someone who wore rose-colored glasses wherever that person went? They see everything in a positive light.

I recall meeting someone like that overseas. I asked her about her outlook. I still recall her response. “I can easily see the negative in most situations but I choose to see everything in a positive light.” Some say she wasn’t at all realistic but it’s how she lived her life. She was very consistent and she worked hard to maintain that outlook.

The Lord’s goodness is all around us if we choose to see it: a sunset, a flower, a loving couple, a newborn, an act of kindness. Of course we don’t have far to look to see man’s evil propensities. Choosing to see the Lord’s goodness is a rare quality. It goes beyond my friend’s positive outlook. It’s opening our eyes to see goodness where it exists.

For some of us who are accustomed to seeing the negative in everything, it may take a lot of reprogramming.
