The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever brighter till the full light of day. Proverbs 4:18
This is the second day for this verse because it’s like a double-edged sword. On the one hand our righteousness can and should be a brilliant reflection of our Lord Jesus Christ. On the other, if we’re not exhibiting those qualities internally on a regular basis, the brilliance is tarnished. And surprisingly enough, I’m not talking about salvation-type issues. I’ll make an assumption that somewhere in the past, you settled that with God Himself. This more has to do with living the Christian life to its fullest.
- Are you being energized by the Holy Spirit daily?
- Are you taking time out of your busy schedule to spend with Jesus daily?
- Do you seek His face and spend time in the Word of God?
If we are to live authentic Christian lives, honestly answering these three questions seems to be a good start in our effort to shine like the first gleam of dawn.
