“Righteous Father, though the world does not know you, I know you, and they know that you have sent me. I have made you known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.” John 17:25-26

Prior to his arrest, Jesus concludes his prayer. He’s trying to prepare his disciples for what they are about to undergo. They need to know about the Father and the Son. The Holy Spirit will be revealed to them soon enough. For the last three years he’s poured himself into his disciples.

Now it’s show time! It’s the time when the Disciples will need to draw upon their memories and experiences about this man who has been with them full time for three years. He chose them for a reason, and that reason will be apparent soon because they will no longer be able to rely on Him for leadership. The reality of the situation is about to be magnified.

As Jesus stated earlier, the Holy Spirit would come and be their guide and comfort.
