3 And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light. Genesis 1:3

Presto! Prior to this there was no light. Complete and utter darkness. What was that like? Of course there was no lifeform either. It was just God. God alone.

No people. No animals. No traffic. No craziness. Complete peace and stillness.

Simply God.

None of that changed with the addition of light. It’s difficult to imagine the purity and sanctity of the “moment,” which in reality could have billions of years – or more.

So why did God one day just put it all into motion and create light? If we knew that answer we’d be God. Thankfully we’re not.

Take a moment today and reflect on the purity and majesty of God. Consider what your life would look like today without God.
