A Smidgeon of Wisdom

1 The fool says in his heart,
“There is no God.”
They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;
there is no one who does good. Psalm 53:1

David is describing the human heart. Without Christ we were very much like that, though we don’t like to admit it.

In Christ, though, we do possess a smidgeon of wisdom and most days we’re able to display it.

But for the vocal atheist whose reputation is built on the “there is not God” phrase, I admit I have a certain amount of pity.

  • Where’s their hope after this life has ended?
  • Where’s their source of strength for the day?
  • Where is their ability to look at the stars or oceans or organisms on a petri dish in absolute wonder?

They profess that they know exactly what they’re doing, but we all know it’s not true.

Pray again for your friends who believe this.

Pray that their eyes would be opened.

Pray for the courage for the words to help open those eyes.
