Take Heart

2b so our eyes look to the Lord our God, till he shows us his mercy.
3 Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us, for we have endured no end of contempt.
4 We have endured no end of ridicule from the arrogant, of contempt from the proud. Psalm 123:3-4

The reason the psalmist even had a glimpse of heaven in the previous verses was because he realized his plight on earth! It’s not at all unlike what we live through, and even more so as the days progress.

It’s tough being ridiculed by those who think they know it all. Most Christians don’t fight back. We are the butt of countless jokes in the media, movies, television shows, and through people who would love to see Christianity reduced to a set of incoherent beliefs. So we do lift our eyes to God, and look forward to the day we will be vindicated.

Despite what you hear in the news and in Hollywood, the church continues to grow and expand throughout the world. More and more people are being added to the kingdom even as I write this. God continues to show mercy on us and on a dying world.

Take heart, fellow Believers, “your redemption draweth nigh.” Luke 21:28

It’s getting closer.
