Teens and You

9 I proclaim your saving acts in the great assembly;
I do not seal my lips, Lord,
as you know.
10 I do not hide your righteousness in my heart;
I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help.
I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness
from the great assembly. Psalm 40:9-10

One thing I’ve noticed in the social media arena is that there are quite a few bold teens who are really displaying their love and passion for Christ. They get into meaningful discussions, proudly proclaim their allegiance, and are unafraid to share who they are. I think we as adults can certainly learn from their boldness. What we forget is that they have peer pressure like the rest of us. They get rejected and depressed and ridiculed probably more than we would ever, plus they’re still trying to figure out life.

In David’s words today, we see that he was not afraid to lay it all out for the public to see. Yes, he was King and could do and say whatever he wanted, but he chose to proclaim the Glory of the Lord.

If you know a teen or two, encourage them in their faith today. Their road is hard and full of dangerous traps. Just let them know you’re praying for them, and then pray for them!
