The Acts of the Holy Spirit

1 In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. Acts 1:1-2

Happy New Year!

Over the next few months I want to walk though the Book of Acts in these devotionals. It’ll be an interesting journey into the life of the Apostles and how these Acts relate to us 2000 years later.

Many scholars believe this book to be a continuation of the Gospel of Luke, something the author, Luke, mentions in the first few words of this book. Jesus took three intensive years to teach his disciples everything they needed to do after His ascension. Throughout the Gospels you get a sense that the Disciples were slow to pick up on what Jesus was teaching them. But in the end, they learned, and I am writing this because of what they learned.

Throughout this book, we will see over and over again the work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the Believer. He worked in the Disciples. He worked through people in the the book of Acts, and he’ll work in us.

Praise Him for the work He is doing in and through us.
