They are brought to their knees and fall,
but we rise up and stand firm.
Lord, give victory to the king!
Answer us when we call! Psalm 20:8-9
In an answer to the “should we trust in our weaponry to get us through” the reply comes loudly. You can trust in those things if you wish, but eventually you’ll be brought down if you do. In other words, the systems, weaponry, and products of man have failed, every time. Again, we only need to look at history. No civilization has remained in power forever. And even after the United States fails, then China, Russia, Iran, Great Britain, Korea, Brazil, New Zealand, or every other country will fail. It’s not at all meant to be pessimistic. I’m just restating what the Bible has already proclaimed.
The lunacy of it all is that even though no civilization has remained in power forever, there are plenty of others who think they can do better than several thousand civilizations before them. It’s the arrogance of nations. But it’s also the very reason we should be depending on the One who has a sure foot on the ground and a Steady Hand on the rulers.
One response to “The Arrogance of Nations”
and the church said Amen! As long as our nation keeps thinking that there has to be that one person who can make everything right…eventually they will find such a person…but that person will be the one the bible has warned us about…..
