he called the bridegroom aside and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.” John 2:10
Many many people are living their lives as if there is no tomorrow, not caring about their actions, not concerning themselves with the way the world is heading. Sadly, as Christians we live our lives like that as well, to the point where there is little difference between those who believe and those who don’t.
But fortunately for all of us, there is a God. There is a salvation. And there is an afterlife, Heaven.
What we see is the best man can do with what he’s been given. All the intellect, money, and power in the world, and still there is no discernible peace in many nations, and certainly there is little peace in the hearts of men and women. Still, though, they keep trying because it’s the best they’ve got.
We tend to think in the midst of struggles, battles, and the daily grind that this world is all we have as Believers.
But, it’s not, not by a long shot.
What is heaven like? I don’t know. I can imagine and surmise and dream, and the Bible paints a fairly interesting picture of heaven, but in the end, we know that it will be otherworldly. There will be peace there because the Prince of Peace will be ruling there. No darkness. No tears. No sorrows. And of course, our Savior will meet us there.
Never lose sight of heaven in the midst of earthly struggles. It’ll be worth the wait.
