Why do the nations conspire
and the peoples plot in vain?
The kings of the earth rise up
and the rulers band together
against the Lord and against his anointed, saying,
“”Let us break their chains
and throw off their shackles.” Psalm 2:1-3
It’s always fun to watch leaders try to defy God and his moral principles. They laugh because they’re now doing what they want to do without fear of immediate judgment or consequences. Unfortunately such actions aren’t reserved for godless heathen nations, but this kind of behavior is becoming more significant in the West. Because there are no consequences the leaders (and the people under them who demanded the actions) believe they they are “scot-free.”
Abortion and homosexuality are two such sins, though the World doesn’t consider them sins. They parade their lifestyle and “choice” for the world to see, and all the while thumbing their noses at God (or worse).
As we well know, God is very patient and tolerant. He doesn’t operate in our time frame, but His. Those sins and many more even heinous sins will come under judgment. It’s easy to lose heart because there are no consequences and very little to deter.
The Bigger Picture is being lived out even as we read this. God really does have it under control, and He can be trusted.
