Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

Most people understand the power of this verse. Many women have committed this verse to memory. People grow old and their bodies show it. The charm we have when we’re younger fades. But fearing the Lord is a lifetime pursuit.

Men and women alike are to fear the Lord for if the truth is told, the charm and features of men fade as well.

It’s difficult at times to look beyond the beauty and charm of a person but if we are to know the heart of God we must spend our waking days seeking to fear the Lord. It’s a daily pursuit even if we have no clue where that chase will lead us.

But fear the Lord we must.
