Light shines on the righteous and joy on the upright in heart. Psalm 97:11
Recall in Matthew 5:45 that the “rain falls on the just and unjust.” The light also shines on the just and unjust. The difference, though, is that the just (righteous) know what that light is.
This evening as I went for my walk to the East, I viewed an absolutely gorgeous sunset reflecting off a street sign. I turned and saw a variety of orange, red, yellow, and purple hues that was painted over half the sky. I recall thinking, “how in the world could someone believe there wasn’t some a ‘Designer’ who created this sunset.”
I saw the finger of God behind that sunset whereas, an Unbeliever would have turned cartwheels trying to explain it away. We may see the same sunset, but we would come to entirely different conclusions about how it got there.
I am able to rejoice because I know there was a Designer behind it.
Every one of us sees that kind of “light” shining on us daily. It’s what we do with that light that makes a world of difference.
Quite literally.
