8 Finally, all of you, be like-minded, 1 Peter 3:8
This verse speaks of focus and single-mindedness.
More than a hundred years ago a preacher coined a phrase that is still common today: “the main thing is to keep the main thing.” What’s the main thing for the Church? Many would say prayer or study or outreach, and none of them would be entirely wrong.
The main thing is Jesus.
If we keep Him in focus, all the others will fall into place. It’s really that simple. When we lose sight of that principle, it’s like we are off center. No matter what we do in our outside the church, when we focus on Him, decisions become easier, people are easier to deal with, and our priorities come into focus.
