The Master Speaks

Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, 2 and he began to teach them. Matthew 5:1-2

The Sermon on the Mount is as real in 2020 as it was 2000+ years ago. Scholars debate about whether He taught this once or it was a pattern of discourse. It doesn’t matter so much.

People are still eager to hear the truth from someone someone who is authentic. They flocked to hear him speak. His disciples were probably still trying to figure out what they had gotten themselves into!

Jesus was the master story teller. The masses came and were amazed.

His message hasn’t changed; He still cares deeply about people. His stories and “sermons” are as relevant today as they were when He taught them publicly.

We can certainly learn from the Sermon on the Mount, but we can practice it and teach it as well.

As we walk through each of these nuggets of truth one by one, consider committing it to memory.
