The Omnipresent God

The Lord is in his holy temple;
the Lord is on his heavenly throne.
He observes everyone on earth;
his eyes examine them.
The Lord examines the righteous,
but the wicked, those who love violence,
he hates with a passion.
On the wicked he will rain
fiery coals and burning sulfur;
a scorching wind will be their lot. Psalm 11:4-6

We sometimes have a view of Go who is sitting in heaven, hands folded, wondering how things are going to turn out next in the world. Such a view of God is incorrect because it makes God out to be impersonal and uncaring.

Nothing could be farther from the truth.

God is omnipresent, which means He’s everywhere at the same time. He works in the affairs of more than six billion people. We often joke that he’s busy with six billion people so how could he possibly be concerned about me? The truth is, being involved with six billion people does not in the least diminish His ability to be involved in your life. If six trillion people were added to planet Earth, he would still care for each and every one, and he wouldn’t miss anyone! Thinking God is limited by the vast numbers of people is faulty thinking.

Yes, He is in his holy temple on his holy throne.

He’s also quick to respond, as the old Gospel song stated, “at the mention of His name.”
