He who obeys instructions guards his life, but he who is contemptuous of his ways will die. Proverbs 19:16
Do you live life on the outer edges, taking a lot of risks when you really don’t need to? Perhaps when we were younger we did, but as we age and mature, we realize all the problems that could happen if just one thing went wrong in a series of events.
But unfortunately, more and more I find it difficult to obey some basic instructions written in the Word of God. They’re in The Book for a reason, to help us. They are certainly not there to stunt our growth or to squelch our creativity. No, God’s instructions are in the Bible to guide us, to prevent us from hurting ourselves.
So, let me ask that question again. Do you live life on the outer edges of the Word of God, taking a lot of unnecessary risks when you really don’t need to?
