The Serpent’s Curse

14 So the Lord God said to the serpent, “Because you have done this,

“Cursed are you above all livestock
and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.
15 And I will put enmity
between you and the woman,
and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head,
and you will strike his heel.” Genesis 3:14-15

Even in the Lord’s curse of the serpent, he put in a prophetic word, he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.” It’s exactly what the serpent tried to do at Calvary. But Jesus was victorious in the end – as He always is. So while the serpent was defeated, he’s certainly not dead.

He is still as deceptive and cunning as ever. He now has a a third of all the angels to assist in his deception. THe and his angels have thousands of years to perfect their deception. So, while he is powerful and wicked in his deceptions, we have the truth of the Gospel and the Holy Spirit on our side.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper,
And every tongue which rises against you in judgment
You shall condemn.
This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord,
And their righteousness is from Me,”
Says the Lord. Isaiah 54:17
