A sluggard says, “There’s a lion in the road, a fierce lion roaming the streets!”
As a door turns on its hinges, so a sluggard turns on his bed.
A sluggard buries his hand in the dish; he is too lazy to bring it back to his mouth. Proverbs 26:13-15
We all have met lazy people throughout our lives. We probably have family members who fit into this category. You and I both know laziness bad for them in every possible way, but they feel contented to stay the same. So, what do you do to help them see the foolishness of their ways?
Well, if you’re not in a position to boot them out of the house or into the streets (what I personally recommend for those who are out of high school and refuse to go look for work), then you need to pray. Please don’t misunderstand me, many are out of work and actively searching for work. It’s a full time job (complete with rejection, frustration, and even depression at times) just doing that and I understand that. You are not in the least bit lazy. What I’m referring to are those who refuse to even look for work.
The question then becomes, how do you pray for lazy people? You should pray that somehow they will see how their laziness affects them and others around them.
