For through me your days will be many, and years will be added to your life. Proverbs 9:11
These last few months I’ve been talking a lot about wisdom, and it’s only right since we’re in the Book of Proverbs. But sometimes we need to step back and get the 30,000 foot view of things. At the end of our lives, we will be rewarded for the decisions we’ve made and how we’ve lived our lives before men and before God. If we had made an earnest attempt at gaining wisdom on a regular basis, it’ll go well with us. It’ll be the clear conscience, the clear slate, the grudge that you don’t carry (but could have), the unkind words you kept to yourself, the discipline you maintained under fierce pressure.
If you’ve been following this devotional for long, you’ll have gained some wisdom in the process, not because it’s a great blog necessarily but because you’ve been reading and thinking about the Word of God. YOu’ve been internalizing it.
Continue doing the things that got you this far. Continue asking God for wisdom. Memorize Scripture often. Plead with God for his Wisdom.
A clear conscience is a soft pillow. -German proverb.
