The Son of the Living God Prayed

22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. Matthew 14:22-24

As mentioned earlier, Jesus finally took the time to commune alone with the Father.

What did He say?
What could He say?
Did He talk about how it was going there on earth?
Did He shake His head at the motley group of disciples He chose?
Did He pray for their well-being?
Did He pray that the storm would test their faith?
Did He ask what He got Himself into being on earth?
Did He pray that God’s will be done in the lives of those He ministered to?

We don’t know what He prayed that night, only that He prayed. It’s not important what He prayed else it would have been included in the text.

But the Son of God – the Second Person of the Holy Trinity – took the time out of His schedule to pray.

I don’t have to look hard to find that lesson, do you?
