The Winds and Storms of Life

4 We have confidence in the Lord that you are doing and will continue to do the things we command. 5 May the Lord direct your hearts into God’s love and Christ’s perseverance. 2 Thessalonians 3:4-5

Paul still had considerable control and influence on the Thessalonian church. We’re not sure whether or not they had the initiative to go out into the marketplace to preach and teach. Not everyone can be an Apostle Paul, nor should they be.

Still, though, Paul encouraged them to be steadfast. The winds and storms of life could easily affect them. The storms affect us all, and there’s no getting around it.

One of the brilliant aspects of being in the Family of God is that any time during the day or night, we can call on Him for help. Certainly we can call on others, and we should. But sometimes, you just need to vent and cry out to the God who is intimately familiar with your life. He understands the hurts and pains. He knows the despair and anxiety you sometimes feel. Of course He knows about the emptiness of a lost loved one.

Those are the storms of life. He knows about them all. And He wants you to talk to Him about them. He desires your companionship. Throw yourself into His arms today.
