5 “The ‘gods’ know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken. Psalm 82:5
Asaph was still talking about the judges of his day. Not much has changed. Compared to the perfect wisdom of Almighty God, judges rule based on what their finite minds can understand and interpret. It is as if they are walking around in darkness, fumbling for the truth. We see it in our courts and legal system. What seems like common sense to the majority of people is completely foreign to judges who have clouded their minds and discernment with the corrupting influences of money and power. That’s not at all to suggest all of them are like this. Of course not.
But even the sharpest and wisest judge makes mistakes from time to time. Wise judges freely admit that they are imperfect but they act according to the evidence presented. Often they don’t know the full story.
Pray for justices on the United States Supreme Court:
JOHN G. ROBERTS, JR.
ANTONIN SCALIA
ANTHONY M. KENNEDY
CLARENCE THOMAS
RUTH BADER GINSBURG
STEPHEN G. BREYER
SAMUEL A. ALITO, JR.
SONIA SOTOMAYOR
ELENA KAGAN
They make judgements based on what they are presented and how they interpret the constitution. Pray that they will seek wisdom from God Almighty.
