Over the next four days my wife, Kerry, will be writing the devotionals as I will be on a trip without internet, electricity, or plumbing.
The Lord said to My Lord, sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool. The Lord shall send the rod of Your strength out of Zion, rule in the midst of your enemies! Psalm 110:1-2
Take a step back and realize that all the things that seem so big and powerful now, that are contrary to God will be made footstools for Jesus.
Even in the midst of His enemies He rules.
Keeping things in perspective can be hard in this life. Do you have someone who seems “bigger than life” and they appear to be more powerful than they really are?
Let’s meditate on these words and on the power and eternal Lordship of God for an encouragement to our souls.
The promise of God began in Genesis where God said to the serpent, “He will bruise your head, and you will bruise his heel” (Genesis 3:15). Yes, he felt the pain of the bruised heel but he dominated with the bruised head.
The triumph of Jesus Christ who endured the cross, but triumphed over death. “Having disarmed principalities and powers He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:15
The enemies of God will bow.
