To God Be the Glory

10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 11 If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 4:10-11

Peter realized that everyone has different gifts that are useful for the Body of Christ. We all work together to make up the Body. One isn’t more important than another. That’s an important point to consider because the more demonstrable gifts tend to get the most attention: evangelist, teacher, preacher. But none of those can operate without backup support from administrative people, secretaries, receptionists, and those who practice hospitality.

Still, though, all the gifts should be done as if we are getting power from on high to do them.

Ultimately, God will get the glory through our gifts when they are done in His power. Let’s not forget why we’re on this earth, to give Him glory.
