Two Sides of the Same Coin

The Lord has made his salvation known and revealed his righteousness to the nations. Psalm 98:2

This is a powerful verse if you let it sink in. We often wonder out loud what God will do about those “who haven’t heard about Jesus Christ.” It’s a fair question to ask but we sometimes ignore it because it’s “above our pay grade.”

Or is it?

This passage complements Romans 1. This verse, however, takes the “without excuse” notion a step further.

18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness,
19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.

0 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. Romans 1:18-20

In Psalms, God has revealed His righteousness to the nations.

In Romans, God has revealed the godlessness and wickedness of the people.

So, yes, men are without excuse, but God has chosen us to bring a clear salvation message to those who don’t believe.

He has blessed us with the ability to decide how, when, how often, and even if we are to verbalize that message.

But He’s also empowered us with the Holy Spirit to be with us every step of the process.

Our message reflects the two verses pointed out above: people are sinners, and God set the standard for righteousness – Jesus Christ. With arms stretched wide, he bridged the gap between sinners and righteousness.

What a message!

What a Savior!
