11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress. Psalm 46:11
This is a repeat of verse six, a very common literary technique in the Hebrew language. In any language, though, repeating something over and over again in the same context seems to emphasize it. This passage is no different.
We cannot be encouraged too much with these words. We need to know that God is there with us in the midst of our pain and joy and anger and discouragements. He has not left us, and in fact will be beside us every step of the way. These are not just feelgood, loosely written words. This is the powerful Word of God.
When the Lord Almighty is with us, there’s nothing we can’t endure or overcome.
