Using Your Gifts to the Fullest

13 Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching. 14 Do not neglect your gift, which was given you through prophecy when the body of elders laid their hands on you. 1 Timothy 4:13-14

Timothy must have been a gifted teacher and preacher. He needed this type of encouragement from Paul because he was young and a leader in the church. Others in the church probably did not appreciate that someone so young was teaching them. His age could have prevented him from thriving.

Paul’s instruction was simply not to neglect his gift. I think it’s something we can all relate to. We have gifts that we don’t use for one reason or another. Or perhaps we use that gift to its fullest. Recall we went over a portion of those gifts in 1 Corinthians.

Is there a gift you have that you’re not using? What would it take to begin using it again or using it more? Is there anything at all preventing you from using the gift?
