Kings take pleasure in honest lips; they value a man who speaks the truth. Proverbs 16:13
This verse has two obvious sides to it, the first I discussed yesterday, and its flipside: dishonesty.
There are obviously a number of ways of being dishonest. Probably the most important is being dishonest with God. You see, He knows you. And He knows you well, better than you know yourself.
You hide. I hide. We all hide.
But God knows you.
Are you honest with Him? Do you speak your mind with Him? Do you yell at Him over your life and what is happening in the world? Do you pour out your heart to Him? Do you ask Him about what breaks His heart?
These are all heart issues that draw us closer to God. And isn’t that what life is all about?
