3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 1 Timothy 2:3-4

The ultimate reason we pray for our leaders seems to be for the furtherance of the Gospel. Think about that for a second. As our lives are good and peaceful, so then is our ability to please God through our witness. The freedoms we possess in these United States are not automatic, though we have gone through relative peace and prosperity these last 50 years or more.

No one points a gun at us to tell us to recant of our faith.
No one burns our Bibles.
In general, we are not imprisoned for our beliefs.
