8 He struck down the firstborn of Egypt,
the firstborn of people and animals.
9 He sent his signs and wonders into your midst, Egypt,
against Pharaoh and all his servants.
10 He struck down many nations
and killed mighty kings—
11 Sihon king of the Amorites,
Og king of Bashan,
and all the kings of Canaan—
12 and he gave their land as an inheritance,
an inheritance to his people Israel. Psalm 135:8-12
It’s apparent from these verses that God went out of His way to bless Israel.
But why? Why Israel? Why not any of those other lands mentioned in these verses? What was so special about Israel?
Throughout the years, Israel could have been voted “Least Likely to Succeed.” So, why did they succeed despite their odds? Why are they a thriving nation now despite its size?
It’s obvious that God has blessed them with talent, ingenuity, ambition, and just plain ol’ “grit.”
Pray for Israel today.
Pray also that its enemies will be confounded and confused in their attempts to destroy this tiny nation.
