In this day of scams and schemes it pays to be as wise as serpents and harmless as doves (Matthew 10:16). PT Barnum said it best that a fool and his money soon part.

But money is only one aspect of the wisdom we need to have. We should be wise in how we use our time and energies. Ever watch an entire evening of television only to kick yourself for wasting so much time? Sure, we all probably have. There are a thousand things you could be doing more worthwhile than sitting in front of the tube. And too, at the end of an evening watching TV it zaps your energy. You lose your motivation to do anything meaningful.

Again, we need wisdom from above because given to our own devices, we can be quite careless.
