Instruct a wise man and he will be wiser still; teach a righteous man and he will add to his learning. Proverbs 9:9
Yesterday’s verse stated that wise men love rebuke (when appropriate). They also love instruction, which could actually be the same thing in his eyes. Often you will not even know you’re instructing him/her. It just happens and you may hear about it later. The key to this happening in becoming wiser and wiser as your days progress. And sometime what you say that is wise may not be profound or earthshattering. It just may be a humble piece of advice or caution to someone who needs it and needs a better perspective.
Wisdom, therefore, cannot be taught from a 27-step manual on How to Become Wise. It’s praying for wisdom, reading the Bible for insight and observing (and talking to) people.
