Is it possible to worship the Lord without gladness?

Evidently.

We see this behavior every week in church services. People sing without feeling. They mouth words but their minds are a million miles away. Perhaps they’re trying to solve problems in their heads. Sometimes it’s hard to break away from the cares of this life.

How do you change that kind of behavior? First is being able to recognize the problem. After that it’s a matter of consciously clearing your minds and preparing for worship. Another thing to consider is what you take in prior to your arrival at church and what you talk about on your way to church.

Lastly, read through some psalms before going to church. It will put your mind and your heart in the right frame of mind.
